Privacy Policy

Pitchd has no accounts, stores no location data, and collects nothing that identifies you. There is no personal information to lose, sell, or leak, because we never ask for any.
What Pitchd does
Pitchd helps you find cricket facilities — nets, grounds, and academies — near wherever you happen to be. It is free, requires no account, and asks for no personal details.
Your location
With your permission, Pitchd reads your device's approximate location to work out which facilities are near you. That position is sent to our search service as a pair of coordinates, used to calculate distances, and then discarded.
- It is never stored on our servers.
- It is never shared with anyone.
- It is never linked to you, because we hold nothing to link it to.
- Location access is entirely optional. Decline it and Pitchd works exactly the same way — you type a city or ZIP code instead.
Anonymous usage data
To understand whether the app is actually useful — whether people find a facility quickly, and whether they come back — Pitchd records anonymous events such as "the map was opened" or "a facility's details were viewed". This is handled by PostHog, an open-source analytics service.
These events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device the first time you open the app. That identifier:
- is a random number, not derived from your device or anything about you;
- is not an advertising identifier, and we do not use one;
- cannot be connected to you, or to any other app;
- is deleted when you uninstall Pitchd.
We do not record what you type into the search box. We record only how long it was, so we can tell a ZIP code from a city name.
What we never collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Any account, because Pitchd has no sign-in
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, or any other app's data
- Any advertising or cross-app tracking identifier
- A history of where you have been
- Your location in the background. Pitchd reads your position only while you are using it, and asks for no background location permission.
When you submit a facility
Anyone can add a facility through the List with Pitchd form, with no account. The details you enter — its name, address, the types of facilities it offers, any notes, and the contact person, phone number, email address or website the public should reach — become part of the public facility directory once our team reviews them. That is the point of submitting: other players need to be able to find and contact the venue.
Two things to be clear about. This information is meant to be public — if you enter your own name or phone number as the facility's contact, that becomes publicly visible, so only enter details you are happy to publish, and only enter someone else's if you are entitled to. And the submission itself is anonymous: we attach no device identifier, no location, and nothing else about you. Submissions are recorded as coming from "community" and nothing more, so we could not tell you which entries you had sent us even if you asked.
Submissions are held for review and do not appear until we verify them. If you are a facility owner and want your listing changed or removed, email us and we will do it.
Maps
Map imagery comes from Stadia Maps, built on OpenStreetMap data. Displaying a map requires requesting map tiles for the area you are looking at, so Stadia Maps receives those requests, subject to their privacy policy.
Who else is involved
Pitchd uses three service providers. They process data on our behalf; none of them is given data to use for its own purposes. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Security
All traffic between the app and our services is encrypted in transit using TLS. The facility directory is held in Amazon Web Services in the United States.
Pitchd is operated from the United States and our servers are in the United States. If you use the app from elsewhere, everything described on this page is processed in the US.
How long we keep things
- Your location: not kept at all. It exists only for the moment it takes to answer a search.
- The anonymous identifier and its events: kept while the app is installed, and removed from your device when you delete Pitchd.
- Facility listings: kept for as long as the facility is in the directory. These are business listings rather than personal records — a cricket ground's address is the point of the app.
Your choices
- Refuse location access. Search by city or ZIP code instead. Nothing is withheld from you for saying no.
- Change your mind later. Turn location off for Pitchd in your device settings; the About screen links straight there.
- Remove the anonymous identifier. Delete the app and it goes with it.
- Ask us to correct or remove a facility listing. Email us and say which one. If it is your facility and you want it taken down, we will take it down.
There is no "delete my account" option because there is no account, and no profile of you for us to delete.
Children
Pitchd is used by youth cricketers and their families, and it is designed with that in mind: there is no account to create, no profile, no messaging, no user-generated content visible to other users, and nothing that identifies anyone. Because we collect no personal information from anyone of any age, we collect none from children.
Deleting your data
There is nothing of yours held on our servers to delete. Uninstalling Pitchd removes the anonymous identifier described above from your device. If you would like a facility listing amended or removed, email us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the app.
